poor old cavendish couldn't get over the hills so friere takes his win to solidify his position in the green jersey. with the first day in the alps tomorrow and a mountain top finish before a rest day, will the outsiders try to go for the stage win or will the contenders attack cadel. or, will cadel attack to extend his lead???on the home front, chris is still atop the leaderboard on both gc and sprint points. a bad pick by team baumbaum saw them slip down to 7th after losing about 5 min.
o’grady tough nuts also picked up a stage win with friere. no change in the mountain points, but that should all change tomorrow.
