olympic results

so spain did take out the gold medal, but not the way that anyone thought. with valverde, sastre and contador in the field, who would have had any money on sammy sanchez. that last 10 kms would have to be the best racing i have seen i quite a while. and can you believe cancellara's big move at the end.

as for the aussies, they were looking so good with gerrans early on, then cadel showed some aggression, then there was a chance that rogers could get up at the end.

but back to the tipping. there were a lot of people that picked spain for the gold, but in the end, it was more about the order you picked the top three than whether you picked the gold medalist. there were many picks that involved spain, lux, aus or italy, but the order that you picked them determined how successful you were.

so, at the end of the day, it was my lovely wife kicking my arse in a tipping contest that she has no real knowledge about. not only that, but she kicked all of you with a pick of spain, aus, italy to claim the gold medal.

silver went to lisa who picked spain, lux, aus.

with bronze going to james with italy, spain, usa.

the tips that seemed to drag you down the standings were countries like germany. if you really wanted to screw up your tip, you would pick the czech republic.
i will organise prizes shortly.
